I'm off to see Ed Sheeran tomorrow so I decided it would be the perfect time to do a blog post on concert tips. Hopefully it helps you a long the way!
Dress Comfortably
Concerts can be tiring, you have to wait in long lines and sit/stand for hours so it's important to dress comfortably. In my opinion, the most important thing for a concert is to wear comfy shoes! When I go to a concert, I love to wear heels which are not always the comfiest thing so I always make sure to carry a small pair of comfortable shoes in my bag so I can change if need be. Always take a jacket! Whether you wear it or not, it's always best to have a jacket with you because standing around can be cold!
Get To The Concert Early
There's normally thousands of people at concerts; you don't want to be having to push your way through hundreds of people to find your seat (If you have one). Keep in mind that everyone will try and get there before you, the earlier, the better!
Know The Artist
One of the worst things to do is to turn up to a concert and not be familiar with the songs being played. Listen to the songs being played in the concert before hand so that you now the lyrics, it'll make your experience 10x better!
Take A Lot Of Pictures
Going to concerts is not something you do on a daily basis (well it's not for me!) so make sure you capture the moment. You'll want to look back on the experience and reminisce; plus it makes the perfect blog post. If you're worried about damaging or loosing your phone or camera, take a disposable camera instead.
Charge Your Devices And Take Back Up Chargers
This for me is a must must must! The worst thing at a concert is when you get there and your batteries died or it dies half the way through meaning you can't take pictures or videos. When I go to a concert, I use the satnav on my phone to get up there which drains battery! I also have to keep up with my blog and emails so a lot of the time, before I've even arrived at the concert, my batteries nearly dead. If possible, print directions so that you don't have to use the satnav on your phone as this will save A LOT of battery. Always take a charger as if you have time before the concert, you can pop into a coffee shop and charge your phone.
Purchase yourself a battery charging phone case. These are life savers for occasions like concerts! Take a camera so that you're not always using your phone and last but not least, take back up camera batteries!
Plan Ahead
Deciding that you're going to a concert is no good if you don't have a plan. Plan what time you'll leave, what time you'll arrive, what route you'll take and wear you're going to park (If you're driving). It'll make things so much easier!
Research If There's Going To Be Any Travel Interruptions
When going to a concert, you want everything to run smoothly. You don't want to be panicking at last minute because there's a big interruption with your travel. I'm off to see Ed Sheeran tomorrow and it just so happens that there's a big train strike and all the trains to London have been cancelled. Luckily for us, we're driving up but a lot of other people are panicking about their travel.
Bring Your Own Pen
Normally at concerts, there'll be supporting acts as well so even if there's someone on the stage, there's a chance that another act will be wondering around and you never know when you'll bump into them! There's nothing worse than bumping into an act and wanting them to sign something for you but realising you don't have a pen. It's better to be safe than sorry!
Hope you enjoy guys!
