I am awful for overpacking! If I'm going away for just one night, I still take crazy amounts. So here's some tips on how not to overpack.
Research And Plan
One of the best things to do when you're going away somewhere is to research and plan. One of the first things I do is research what the weather's going to be like while I'm there. I also like to plan what I'm going to be doing while I'm away. This was I know exactly what outfits and items of clothing that I need to take.
Write Lists
My biggest rule when I'm going away is to write a list of everything I need to take. I tend to do this quite a while before I go. This way I know that I have everything written down that I need to take and I don't have to worry about not having something therefore meaning that I don't overpack. If you clearly see what you're packing, you'll know you have everything and be less likely to throw things in the case that you don't need. This doesn't mean that you can't throw in a few extra bits, it just means you're not over packing crazy amounts!
Mini Beauty Bits
Pack the minis! When going travelling, I always make sure that I take miniature beauty products i.e. shampoo, conditioner etc. This way my case is lighter. Plus they take up a lot less room meaning that I have plenty of room for other things. Even if one miniature conditioner isn't enough, taking two miniature conditioners is still lighter and takes up less room that taking one big one.
If you're anything like me, you'll still manage to somehow overpack but hopefully these tips will help along the way!
